The Guardians lost last night to the flailing Mariners and the Tigers have a 9.5 game lead in the AL Central.

Barring some kind of miracle, the Tigers will win the AL Central. Time for the Guardians to aim fr a wildcard.

It won't do much good to win a wildcard unless someone, anyone, not named Steven Kwan, Jose Ramirez or Carlos Santana consistently hit the ball with authority. And if their bullpen lefties can't be effective. Here is Nick's recap of another frustrating game.

Terry Pluto has some notes. He says John Means is throwing in Goodyear. The best news from yesterday was that Shane Bieber has resumed throwing.

I don't know what else to say. They'll either figure something out on this road trip... or things will get bad.
