CASC EDUCATIONAL TALENT SEARCH HOSTS LEADERSHIP CAMP FOR LOCAL YOUTH
POTEAU, OK – Carl Albert State College’s Educational Talent Search (ETS) program proudly hosted its annual ETS Leadership Camp on May 28, 2025, welcoming thirty-five middle and high school students for a day of growth, motivation, and leadership development.
The event featured guest speaker Nicki Joiner, a dynamic speaker with Top Youth Speakers, who delivered an inspiring keynote and facilitated interactive workshops throughout the day. Students engaged in a variety of sessions focused on academic achievement, money management, leadership, and social-emotional learning, gaining skills that will benefit them both in school and in life.
“The Educational Talent Search program at CASC is one of our most impactful outreach efforts,” said CASC President Dr. Jay Falkner. “It empowers young people in our region with the tools they need to succeed in college and beyond. Events like the ETS Leadership Camp demonstrate our commitment to shaping strong, capable future leaders.”
CASC’s Educational Talent Search program is a federally funded TRIO program dedicated to helping students in grades 6 through 12—especially those who are first-generation college-bound or from income-eligible backgrounds—prepare for postsecondary education. ETS provides year-round academic advising, college and career planning, campus visits, cultural experiences, financial aid assistance, and more—all at no cost to families.
If you have a child in grades 6–12 or between the ages of 11 and 18 who would benefit from joining the ETS program, contact the CASC ETS Office at 918-647-1379 to request an application packet.
