Royals Reacts Survey: Adding to the lineup
The Royals have been steadily improving their roster, but do they need more help to get to the playoffs?
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the MLB. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Kansas City Royals fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
Three weeks ago, the Royals added Nick Loftin to the roster to boost the offense. Two weeks ago, the Royals added John Rave to the roster to boost the offense. Last week, the Royals added Jac Caglianone to the roster to boost the offense. During the weekend series in Chicago, the Royals lost two out of three largely because the offense just couldn’t get the job done.
Everyone from the newest fan to general manager J.J. Picollo himself has known that the 2025 Royals would need more offense if they were going to make any noise in the playoffs. What we have seen through the first third of the season is that the Royals needed even more offense than most of us assumed.
The question, now, is how much more offense do they need than what they have? Is Jac going to be enough as he gets hotter? Does removing Michael Massey from the playing rotation suffice? Or do they need more hitters? Time for you, the fans, to speak!
