Happy Mother’s Day!

Sunday afternoon baseball kicks off in an hour when the A’s take the field against the Yankees on Mother’s Day. After splitting the first two games of the weekend series today’s contest will determine which team claims the series victory.

The A’s will rely on Luis Severino to beat his longtime teammates.

Center fielder JJ Bleday is back in the lineup after a day off yesterday but right fielder Lawrence Butler will get the afternoon off while Miguel Andujar moves from third base to the outfield.

New York’s starting lineup for Sunday afternoon baseball against the Athletics:

New York will turn to left-hander Ryan Yarbrough for the start this afternoon. The longtime Rays swing man joined the Yankees in the offseason and has mostly worked as a reliever since joining New York. Today will be his second start of the year for the beleaguered starting staff and he’ll be bringing a 3.72 ERA into this afternoon’s matchup.
