Hide the trash cans, Houston comes to town!

The Astros (16-14) are in town to face the red-hot (OK, for one game) White Sox. Hopefully, some of the 20th anniversary of the World Series win will be in the air as they see the Astros for the first time this year.

After scoring eight runs yesterday, the South Siders have most likely reached their allotted runs for the month. The new City Connect uniforms will also make an appearance tonight.

Jonathan Cannon (1-3) is on the mound tonight. Andrew Benintendi is resting, so why not have infielder Brooks Baldwin take his spot in left field. Andrew Vaughn is in the DH spot instead of first base; is this one last shot before he’s gone? Bobby Dalbec will instead take first base tonight.

Framber Valdez (1-3 with an ERA of 4.00) will be the starter for the Astros. Given the oddly even matchup with Cannon, this could be an interesting night for both pitchers.

First pitch is at 6:40 p.m. CT. You can watch the game on CHSN and listen on ESPN Chicago 1000. I’ll be back later with the recap.
