Mariners Game #27 Preview, 4/26/25: MIA at SEA
The Mariners try to get back in the win column against the Marlins
After a disastrous night last night where the Mariners lost both the game and their best starter for an undetermined amount of time, the team tries to get their footing back under them against Connor Gillispie and the Marlins. In his last outing against the Phillies—a team that, like the Mariners, had never seen Gillispie before—he went five innings and gave up four runs on seven hits.
Lineups:
Raleigh starts at catcher again, which is interesting, as Garver has done the catching for Castillo every other start this season. Randy Arozarena returns to the lineup as Dylan Moore gets a night off.
And here’s how the Marlins are lining up.
News:
The beginning of the homestand means it’s time for the Justin Hollander injury update. Read it here.
In case you were blissfully unaware—and I hestitate to inform you if you are—Logan Gilbert left his start last night with what the team is calling a strained forearm.
Captain’s Log:
“Obviously you don’t know until you get a picture taken, but I think it’s pretty positive what we heard today.” - an optimistic-sounding Dan Wilson on Logan Gilbert’s initial results.
Today’s Game Information:

After the weekend series finishes up, the Mariners will have an off-day on Monday, and then a short two-game set against the Angels before heading back out on another road trip. The Angels series games will be Value Games, with seats as low as ten dollars, and since the next home series is the Blue Jays and Yankees (blurghhghghgh), you might want to consider getting out to those games to be among friendly faces (and lower ticket prices).
