Mariners 2025 Spring Training Games #28, 29: Open Game Thread
Double Logan Day
We are getting down to brass tacks as spring training winds down, so of course it’s time for a split squad game. It’s the Mariners’ two Logans, Gilbert and Evans, on the hill today. Fun fact: each of them call each other “Big Loag,” which makes for some funny hallway moments at the complex as they pass each other.
Home game (vs. CIN):
Logan Gilbert gets his final spring tune-up before Opening Day. While Gilbert’s job is assured, he’ll be followed by a couple of relievers fighting it out for an Opening Day roster spot: Casey Legumina and Carlos Vargas. Gregory Santos is also scheduled to appear in the middle of the fringe reliever sandwich.
Hunter Greene will get the start for the Reds, on a day the team announced an extension for catcher Jose Trevino.
Game time: 1:10 PT

Radio: 710 AM Seattle Sports, with Rick Rizzs and Gary Hill Jr. on the call.
Away game (@ KC):
Logan Evans travels to Surprise to face the Royals. Evans is scheduled to be followed by mostly the “A” bullpen: Gabe Speier, Collin Snider, Trent Thornton; Shintaro Fujinami, in the competition for the same roster spot Legumina and Vargas are fighting for, will also make an appearance. Here’s who else is coming along for the ride:
New acquisition Michael Lorenzen will get the start for the Royals, who announced today their Opening Day is sold out.
