Morning Briefing: Soto to Make Mets Spring Training Debut Saturday
Good morning once again from Port St. Lucie, Mets fans and happy baseball eve! We are just one-day away from the Mets opening their 2025 Grapefruit League slate right here in PSL. Tomorrow at 1:10 p.m. ET, the Mets will welcome the Houston Astros to Clover Park for Game 1 of the spring slate. It will be Clay Holmes on the mound to start Saturday’s matchup.
And it is official! According to Tim Healey of Newsday Sports, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said that Juan Soto will be making his Mets spring training debut on Saturday against the Astros. Along with Soto, Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso will also be in the lineup.

As we (Metsmerized Online) shared on Thursday, the Mets will have the first Roku Sunday leadoff game of the 2025 season. That game will be against the Chicago Cubs at 11:35 a.m. ET on May 11 and will air on the Roku channel.
Per Anthony Rieber of Newsday Sports, the Mets have lowered Citi Field parking prices for season-ticket holders. (All other guests will be the usual $40).
