Extra pain: Angels 4, White Sox 3 (13 innings)
The tragic number drops to eight, as the South Side losing train steams forward to San Diego
Somehow, Andrew Vaughn’s home run to open scoring in the game did not hold up. That fact was not aided by the White Sox going 5-for-40, with five singles, against mediocre Angels pitching in all other at-bats of the game. It was a 1-for-13 with RISP performance, with 10 Ks and 11 left on base. The offense that seemed to have woken up from slumber for the final two weeks of the season has tucked itself back in for a dirt nap.
