MLB unveiled the 2025 schedule for next year, with the Royals opening the season at home against the Guardians, breaking their streak of two consecutive seasons at home against the Twins. The Royals opened the 2022 season at home against the Guardians, when Bobby Witt Jr. made his MLB debut.

The schedule includes “ATH”, which stands for the Athletics, who are scheduled to play next season in Sacramento, although it is still unclear what they will be called. The schedule is balanced, with 13 games against American League Central teams, 6-7 games against other American League clubs, and three games against each National League team except the Cardinals. The Royals will host their cross-state rivals on May 16-18, then travel to St. Louis on June 3-5.

Other National League visits for the Royals include trips to take on the Brewers (March 31-April 2), Giants (May 19-21), Padres (June 20-22), Diamondbacks (July 4-6), Marlins (July 18-20), Cubs (July 21-23), and Phillies (September 12-14). The National League teams coming to town include the Rockies (April 22-24, Reds (May 26-28), Dodgers (June 27-29), Pirates (July 7-9), Mets (July 11-13), Braves (July 28-30), at Nationals (August 11-13).

Teams break July 14-17 for the All-Star Game in Atlanta.

The schedule ends nicely with 19 of 25 games at home in mid-August to early September, ideal if the Royals are in contention. They end the season on a road trip to visit the Angels and A’s, two teams not expected to be contenders by next year.

The Royals released their 2025 schedule with a “Royalty-free video”. You can also see the full schedule here. Game times and a promotional schedule will be announced later.
