[Track and Field] Multiple Track & Field Falcons receive USTFCCCA academic recognition
NEW ORLEANS – The Friends University Track & Field Falcons are well-represented in the 2022 NAIA U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) All-Academic awards.
In addition to the individual academic honors that are listed below, both the women and men's track & field programs were NAIA USTFCCCA All-Academic teams, given to teams with at least a 3.0 cumulative grade-point-average for all student-athletes listed on the institution's eligibility certificate.
Individually, the Falcon Women put nine student-athletes on the USTFCCA All-Academic list, while the Men's Falcons had five representatives. The Women's Falcons nine honorees are tied for the most by any KCAC program.
"This past season has seen so many milestones and I could not be more proud of all of our student-athletes for what they have accomplished, both athletically and academically," said Friends track & field head coach Henry Brun. "It's great to make it three years in a row that both the men's and women's programs are being acknowledged as NAIA All-Academic teams. The greatest achievement is knowing that every member of this team is getting a quality education and working toward their degree here at Friends. Our staff has worked very hard to set a standard of how the program excels in the classroom just as impressively as we do on the track and I look forward to continuing to build upon our culture of success."
To be named a USTFCCCA All-Academic athlete, the student-athlete must have a cumulative 3.25 GPA, achieved an "A" or "B" standard in a championship event and completed at least two semesters or three quarters through the end of the semester of competition at the certifying institution.
