[Men's Wrestling] Men's and Women's Wrestling Falcons compete at Avila Duels
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Friends University Men's and Wrestling Falcons were back in action today (Jan. 22) at the Avila Duels in Kansas City, Mo.
The Falcon men opened the day with a 41-10 setback to the host Avila University Eagles, but picked up two individual victories in the duel from Jacob Rymer (FR/Wichita, Kan.) and Gabriel Bowers (FR/Scott City, Kan. ). Rymer won his match by majority decision 9-0 and Bowers bested his opponent by fall at the 5:09 mark.
Thanks to multiple open bout victories, the Falcons managed to come out on top of William Jewell University 30-27.
The Women's Falcons fell to Avila 34-0 and then to William Jewell 32-5, with Jaselynn Dunn winning an open bout for Friends.
Both the Men's and Women's Wrestling Falcons will next have a dual at the University of Saint Mary Thursday (Jan. 27) in Leavenworth, Kan.
