Steven Adams Ruled out Monday

0 27

Kerith Burke reports Steven Adams will sit out of Monday’s matchup between the New Orleans Pelicans and Golden State Warriors due to a lingering toe injury.

Monday will be the third straight game because of the injury, last playing in a 114-112 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Apr. 28, scoring two points, one rebound and two assists in 13 minutes of action. In his first season with the Pelicans, Adams has averaged 27 minutes, eight points, nine rebounds and two assists per game.

Expect Willy Hernangomez to continue as the starter. Priced at $5,000 on FanDuel, Hernangomez has averaged 28 minutes, 13 points, 11 rebounds and one assist in the two games Adams has sat out. This season, appearing in 40 games, mostly off the bench, Hernangomez has averaged 17 minutes, seven points, seven rebounds and one assist per game. Zion Williamson should also see an increase in production. In 136 minutes, with Adams off the floor, Williamson has a 28.6% usage rate and averages 1.24 fantasy points per minute.

The Pelicans are a 2.5-point home favorite against the Golden State Warriors on FanDuel Sportsbook in a game with a 236.5 total.
