[Baseball] RedStorm sweeps Brescia, climbs over .500

    OWENSBORO, Ky. - After dropping each of their first four games in early February, the University of Rio Grande baseball team has spent the entire 2018 campaign trying to get its head above water.
    In their final games of the regular season schedule, the RedStorm finally managed to escape their submersion and take in a healthy breath of fresh air.
    Head coach Brad Warnimont's squad moved over the .500 mark for the first time this season, completing a weekend series sweep of Brescia University with a 14-0 mercy rule-shortened victory and a 3-2 triumph, Saturday afternoon, in River States Conference play at Kamuf Park.
    Rio Grande improved to 26-24 overall and 17-10 in the RSC with the wins, securing the No. 3 seed in next week's conference tournament in the process.
