[Football] Caleb Coe earns CoSIDA Academic All-District™ College Division honors

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - The 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Football Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The awards are voted on by current dues-paying group and individual members of CoSIDA.

For the first time in his career, Caleb Coe (JR/Cedarville, Ohio), has been named to the College Division Football Team for District 2. He is one of 25 players from his district to earn the award and one of three linebackers.

Coe picked up Mid-States Football Association All-Midwest First Team Defense honors this season. He started all 11 games and provided ONU with a career-high and team-high 124 tackles, (59 solo, 65 assists). He had a career-high 11.5 tackles for loss for 36 yards, two sacks for 13 yards, one forced fumble, three passes broken up and two quarterback hurries. Coe led the MSFA in tackles per game (11.3) and was 10th in tackles for loss.

Coe, an exercise science major carrying a 3.82 cumulative G.P.A., will graduate in May 2019.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America honorees to be announced in December.

The Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian, two-year schools, and other affiliations.
