[Women's Soccer] Women's Soccer Falcons Blitz Manhattan Christian, 10-0

WICHITA -- The Friends University Falcons put on an offensive showcase in the first half against the Manhattan Christian College Thunder, scoring nine goals on the way to a 10-0 rout today (Sept. 23) at Adair-Austin Stadium. 

Jazelle Gonzalez (JR/Dallas, Texas) got things rolling less than a minute into the match by taking a pass to the middle of the box and scoring from Kaitlyn Still (FR/Mustang, Okla.).

Gonzalez then assisted on the Falcons' next goal, feeding Hannah Gallant for a shot from 20 yards out at the 7:39 mark.

After Addison Kingrey (JR/Wichita, Kan.) hooked in a shot from the left side in the 11th minute, Gonzalez recorded another assist, this time on a goal from Ana Warren just 30 seconds later.

Dalia Fernandez (SR/Wichita, Kan.) then scored the first of her two goals at the 18:11 mark before assisting on scores from Willow Corliss (FR/Wichita, Kan.) and Victoria Guiterrez (FR/Tucson, Ariz.).

To wrap up the first half highlight reel, Koryn Brookshire (FR/Fort Worth, Texas) assisted on another goal by Fernandez and then scored off a free kick in the 34th minute.

Corliss then added a second score of her own by taking a pass from Janae Slater (SR/Wichita, Kan.) and launching it over the goalkeeper in the 12th minute of the second half to put the finishing touches on the Falcons' big victory.

The Falcons (2-3-1) dominated the action throughout, outshooting MCC 39-0, led by five shots from Corliss and four each from Gonzalez, Brookshire and Kailey Riley (SO/Weatherford, Texas).

Ashlee Richman (SO/Garden City, Kan.) started in goal for Friends and played the opening half before giving way to Lauren Ferguson (SO/Holt, Mo.) for the second half.

The Falcons will next open up action in the KCAC at home Wednesday evening (Sept. 27) against the University of St. Mary Spires. The match is set to begin at 6 pm.
