MACON, Ga. – The Point University men's cross country team finished its 8000-meter race with a first place team title among five schools and placed four of the top seven runners at the Middle Georgia State University Invitational at the Georgia Premier Cross Country Course in Macon, Ga., Saturday, Sept. 9.
Point totaled 37 points, just two points ahead of Emory University at Oxford (Ga.) with 39 points. Oxford placed its top five runners among the top 12 and four of the top 10, including second-place finisher Justin Burton, who clocked a 30:17.5 over the 8000-meter course. Brewton-Parker College (Ga.) scored 62 points with two runners in the top ten, including race champion Bosco Hakuzimana, who covered the course in 29:40.2. Clark Atlanta University finished fourth with 106 points, and Georgia Military College finished fifth with 123.
