Updated COVID-19 Protocols – Pan Am Junior 2022

Regarding BWF Updated COVID-19 Protocols, which in consideration of the success of the national vaccination programs which have allowed the opening of many economies and international travel.

BWF has decided to relax some of the COVID-19 tournament protocols in line with many government policies around the world. Were local governments do mandate increased restrictions over and above the BWF protocols, it will be necessary for all participants to follow these.

The updates considered in this document are intended to cover the second half of 2022 unless there are new Covid- 09 related developments in the coming months.

Relaxation of some points
For XXX Pan Am junior Championships 2022, BPAC will adhere to phase 3 of the BWF – COVID safety protocols. Phase 3 will remove some of the BWF phase 2 safety protocols and BWF/BPAC will now predominantly follow the local government regulations in each tournament location.

• The BWF / BPAC pre-departure test requirement will be removed, unless mandated by the local government for COVID-19 reasons.
• The BWF exemption policy for recently recovered participants will be removed. Exemptions will be regulated by the local government policy.
• Players and team, officials are no longer required to stay in the official hotels unless mandated by the local government and 7 or local organizing committee for COVID-19 reasons.
• BWF will generally follow the local government regulations regarding the wearing of face masks. However, in specific cases BWF /BPAC may mandate the wearing of face masks as per the phase 1 and phase 2 protocols.
• Shuttle dispensers will no longer be mandatory and will be removed unless otherwise requested by the local government and / or local organizing committee to continue to use the shuttle dispenser.

For the XXX Pan Am Junior Championships 2022, the following protocols still in place as follow:

1. Control Antigen test will be run as the following schedule:
a. Upon Arrival 100% of team members / officials and LOC
b. 30% of the participants every 4 days.
2. The use of facemask is mandatory at the competition venue and official transportation.
3. Only one coach sitting behind is permitted per player / pair
