Howard Roberts Scores Affordable Carpet Street Shootout
September 4, 2016 - Today's event featured our annual NHRA King of the Track race and the rescheduled Affordable Carpet Street Money Shootout. The weather was spectacular and made for a great day of racing.
Steve English won the special NHRA King of the Track race which pitted our number 1 point earners in each class, racing for a shot at the "Wally" trophy and the bragging rights that come with it. It was Street Money and Trophy point leader Steve English who stopped the Pro division Mike LaRose in the final round. Steve was dialed in at a 12.55 and drilled the tree with an impressive .004 reaction time and ran a 12.572 at 108.98 mph on his 12.55 dial to turn back Mike's .029-initiated 9.871 at 130.83 mph run on his 9.84 dial. Pro MX leader Dennis Boston was the semifinalist. Here's how the final rounds shook out and the boxscores below.
