SEMA 2013 Recap Part 1
Although SEMA 2013 featured launch of the Bulletproof Automotive Scion Concept One… The event showcases some of the automotive industries finest work, ground breaking builds, and latest trends.
Bulletproof staff was on location to catch some of the most highly anticipated builds to close out the year. Our featured car is the latest USA RWB creation all the way from Houston, Texas and was displayed in the ISS Forged Booth. The owner Danny B, actually tracks the vehicle monthly and routinely battles between taking out this Porsche 993 Carrera RS or his Nissan Silvia S15.
The latest from Toyo Tires and LTMotorworks captured a lot of attention throughout the week… a 2013 R35 Nissan GT-R featuring the latest from Liberty Walk Performance Japan.
Dai Yoshihara’s Subaru BRZ made its highly anticipated debut featuring the latest TRA Kyoto Rocket Bunny V2 variation in the Falken Tire booth. The car is said to be under development and plans will be competition ready for the 2014 Formula Drift Season. We can’t wait to see this car in action!
Speaking of Formula Drift, we caught a peak at former Formula Drift Champion and Drift Alliance pioneer . The new 5.6L V8 engine puts out over 650 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque straight to the rear wheels. Although some say swapping the native VQ37 out of the Z34 is blasphemy… we can certainly appreciate the time and wizardry Nissan Motorsports team has put into this car. We wish Chris Forsberg luck going into the 2014 season!
Another highly anticipated build for SEMA 2013 was the TCP Magic RX7 from Houston, Texas. The aero kit features aggressive super taikyu and super gt race inspired wide fenders and subtly contrasting front bumper with integrated carbon diffuser. It is always exciting to see Japanese manufacturers willing to push the envelope on platforms nearly 18 years after the RX7 was cut from US shores and 12 years since the last FD3S rolled off the production line in Japan. Keep up the great work Taisuke-San!
