Recently in Norway, their customs found and processed a large shipment of fake wheels including; ADV.1s, Vossen’s, and BBS wheels. These blatant knockoff wheels, ugly, cheap, a rip-off, and dangerous, are being taken care of, by the kind people in Norway. This issue happen all around the world with almost every major brand. Here are a few ways to avoid paying for a fake and how to be The RealJDM!

 

Ways to avoid buying fake parts:

  1. -If you’re doing deals in a back alley, you’re probably getting knockoffs. Make sure you are purchasing from an authorized dealer or distributor of the brand you want.
  2. -If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. So you are being quoted the cost of your entire set of wheels at a price cheaper than just one of the authentic wheels. That is not a buddy hook up you are getting. What you are probably getting is some knockoffs.
  3. -Depending on the manufacturer, lead times can vary but each shop has its usual lead time associated with the. Double check on the forums or preferably the shop directly to see how long a new products usually takes to arrive.

 

In addition, knockoff parts are dangerous. They can break easily and most times are much harder to install due to the poor fit and finish. Authentic parts can get a bit pricy, but there are great parts for every budget.
