ANDRA Two Wheeled Titans Racing Saturday at Sydney Dragway

A full field of 11 of Australia’s fastest motorcycles will descend on Sydney Dragway this Saturday for the ANDRA Drag Racing Masters – with the Australia Day weekend event marking the return of ANDRA drag racing to the NSW venue for the first time in many years.

The one-day event will feature not only these incredible two-wheeled titans, but fellow feature brackets, the Doorslammer Masters, Pro Mod Masters, and Pro Stock, as well as racing for the ANDRA Regional Sportsman Championship – with almost 150 racers pursuing more than $70,000 in cash and prizes as well as highly coveted Gold ANDRA Christmas Tree Trophies.

Extreme Motorcycle

In Extreme Motorcycle, fans can look forward to thrilling performances from Brant Gilliver, Rob Cassar, Leonard Azzopardi, Alex Borg, Tony Frost, Adam Layton, Jake Hamilton-Moderate, Ryan Franks, Darren Foley, Brendan Miglionico, and Mike Lawson.

2018 ANDRA Competition Bike champion Tony Frost is counting down the days.

“Our race team is excited to race at Sydney for the ANDRA Drag Racing Masters,” Frost said.

“It will be a huge one-day event, and we are expecting to run fast times against some different styles of bikes and to put on a great show.”

Local racer Darren Foley is another looking forward to the event, on his impressive turbo Hayabusa.

“I am really excited and looking forward to the ANDRA Drag Racing Masters this weekend,” Foley said.

“There is a full field of top-of-the-line riders for the Extreme Motorcycle Masters, which will make for some great racing.

“With the $3k up for grabs for first prize, which we appreciate, everyone will be bringing their A-game.

“We hope to see everyone there on the weekend.”

Ballistic Performance Parts Modified Bike

Amongst those lining up to do battle are Rob Church, Ned Karanovic, and Jason Keily.

Church missed out on the Ballistic Performance Parts Modified Bike victory at the South Coast Nationals at South Coast Raceway by a narrow margin in December and will be looking to go one better on debut in Sydney this weekend.

“I am really looking forward to the ANDRA Drag Racing Masters event – I have never been to Sydney Dragway,” Church said.

“I just missed out on the win at Portland; and I have been qualifying well – I just need to finish the job in this one-day battle to stay high up in the points.”

New Gen Business Park Junior Drag Bike

In New Gen Business Park Junior Drag Bike, Aliza Harris – who took victory at Desert Nationals earlier this season – will be making her debut at the NSW facility.

“I am looking forward to racing in Sydney as I’ve never been to the track before and I have heard some really good things about it,” she said.

“I am also looking forward to testing my bike at another track under different conditions.

“As a race team we are excited to travel to Sydney for the race as well as seeing different places and making a holiday out of the trip as well.

“We hope to either place in the finals or get a new PB for us.”

The Australian National Drag Racing Association Ltd, or ANDRA for short, is the drag racing sanctioning body of Australia. The organization was created in 1973 from a more drag racing oriented faction of the Australian Hot Rod Federation. Today ANDRA sanctions races throughout Australia and throughout the year at all levels, from Top Fuel to Junior Dragster, on everything from temporary regional tracks to international standard facilities in capital cities. ANDRA and its members make drag racing a family-friendly, safe sport. So come along as a spectator or bring your street car to an “off-street” event and enjoy the excitement that is Australian drag racing. www.andra.com.au
