SK Light Champion Meg Fuller Moves Up to Stafford’s Premier SK Modified® Division in 2026

0 1

(Stafford Springs, CT)—After capturing the 2025 SK Light championship, second-generation driver Meg Fuller of Auburn, MA will move up the Stafford Speedway ladder into the track’s premier SK Modified® division for the 2026 season.  Fuller will join forces with Dan Avery and Keith Rocco Racing to pilot an Avery Construction car adorned with her familiar #2 and support from longtime partners Propane Plus, P.T. Watts, Wally and Jason Koza, Rob from TFR, Interstate Transmission, RaceChoice, Metro Door, Gary Rice Shop Equipment, Renee and Ed Bennett, Avery Construction, and VR Wraps, while welcoming P.J. Ladola and Sons as a new sponsor for 2026.

“I’m really excited to make the step up,” said Fuller.  “I feel like it’s time and I’m excited that Dan and Doug from Avery Construction have the confidence in me to team up with us for 2026.  P.J.L. will be joining us this year and he’s a longtime supporter of Dan Avery so we’re excited about that and we also have our long term sponsors coming back.  I’m also excited to be able to continue our relationship with Keith Rocco and none of this would be possible without Keith’s help.  There’s a lot of competition in the SK division and we’re hoping for a smooth transition and a successful rookie year.”

Fuller comes to the SK Modified® division with 5 years of experience in Stafford’s SK Light division and she also drove for 3 seasons in the track’s Street Stock division.  Fuller has made 2 career starts in the SK division and she is ready to tackle the challenge of a new division with help from Keith Rocco, her father Rick, and the entire #2 team.

“We’ve been teamed up with Keith since 2021 and we love working with him,” said Fuller.  “It’s huge to bring the experience from the SK Lights.  It’s a pretty tough division to be in every week and that gives you the experience of racing in an open wheel car.  It definitely helps having a few experienced drivers in the SK division to give me the advice that I’ll need to make the move from the Lights to the SK’s.  My Dad is also a great supporter of mine with his experience.”

As with any new situation, Fuller is feeling some nerves, but her experience combined with her crew leave her with an overriding feeling of confidence making the move into the top-tier SK Modified® division.

“I feel like with anything there might be some nerves, but I’m pretty confident in the team that I have behind me and I’m sure running the full season will have its challenges,” said Fuller.  “Our main goal is going to be consistent because that helps bring a lot of success at the end of a season.  I’ll be more focused on consistency rather than where we’re going to finish and just being able to finish races is going to be my main priority.  Rookie of the Year would be very nice for us and it’s going to be tough, but I’m confident I’ll be able to be competitive.  I’m glad that I’ve done a couple of SK races already to get my toes in the water a little bit.”

Moving into the SK Modified® division will see Fuller and the #2 team now racing 40-lap feature events rather than the 20-lap sprints she had become accustomed to in the SK Light division.  Fuller will now also be able to utilize having a pit crew to help adjust the car or make any necessary repairs during races.

“Now that we’re moving into the SK division and the races are 40 laps, we have the opportunity to pit and make changes to the car if it’s not exactly how I want it,” said Fuller.  “In the SK Lights when we had some of the longer races, if something happened you were out of the race and now we can stay in the race.  I also feel like I’ll have more patience behind the wheel.  We were pretty good in the longer races in the SK Lights so I think I just have to bring that mentality with me to the SK’s on a weekly basis.”

The first SK Modified® feature of the 2026 season will be held as part of the 54th Annual NAPA Spring Sizzler®, set for April 25-26. The NAPA Spring Sizzler® kicks off on Saturday, April 25, with feature events for the Late Model, Limited Late Model, Street Stock, and Granite State ProStock divisions, along with SK Light qualifying duel races that will set the field for an extra-distance 30-lap feature event on Sunday, April 26.
