Qatar Drag Racing Championship – Round 2
Round 2 of the Qatar Drag Racing Championship
The second round of the 2025–26 Qatar Drag Racing Championship concluded in thrilling fashion at the Qatar Racing Club drag strip, under the generous patronage of H.E. Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani, Chairman of the Club. The weekend delivered high drama, fierce competition, and standout performances across all categories, marking another successful chapter in this season’s championship.
Al Ansari Shines with a Double Victory
Among the many highlights of the round, Abdullah Al Ansari stood out as the only competitor to clinch two titles. He first dominated the Index 8.50 (Motorcycles) class, defeating Abdulwahab Bu Qamaz in a closely contested final, with Hassan Al Mezdi finishing third — mirroring his result from the opening round.

But Al Ansari wasn’t done yet. Returning to the track for the Street Bike category, he continued his impressive form to secure another victory — improving on his second-place finish from the previous round. In the final race, he faced Mohammed Al Salem, who had to settle for second once again, while Abdulwahab Bu Qamaz rounded out the top three.
New Faces on Top
This round saw four new champions across the championship’s various classes, with the winners’ roster looking distinctly different from that of the opening round just a week earlier. The fresh results have reshaped the points standings and intensified the battle for the overall titles as the season progresses.
Looking Ahead
With momentum building and rivalries heating up, all eyes now turn to the third round of the championship. Qualifying sessions are set for Wednesday and Thursday, with elimination races on Friday, promising another weekend of high-speed action and world-class competition at the Qatar Racing Club.
