High Drama and New Champions in Round 3 of the Qatar Drag Racing Championship
After a weekend of intense battles and nail-biting finals, the curtain has fallen on Round 3 of the Qatar Drag Racing Championship, held at the Qatar Racing Club’s drag strip under the generous patronage of H.E. Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani, Chairman of the Club.
This round delivered record participation, with racers from Qatar, the Gulf, and across the region competing fiercely for championship points. By the end, six new champions stood atop the podium—each claiming their titles for the first time and shaking up the overall standings as the season heads into its final stretch.
Ashkanani Captures First Victory, Karam Doubles Up
The Index 8.50 (Motorcycles) class saw the largest field of the weekend, with 36 competitors battling for supremacy. In a thrilling final, Hussain Ashkanani emerged victorious, earning his first title of the season. Khalifa Al Shrooqi claimed second place, while Youssef Al Duraish rounded out the podium in third.
In the Street Bike category, Ahmed Karam continued his strong form by capturing his second win of the season, following his victory in the opening round. Facing off once again against Mohammed Al Salem, the runner-up from the previous round, Karam held his composure to secure back-to-back wins. Dawood Al Sharshani made an impressive debut in the class, claiming third place in his first appearance after missing the first two rounds.
Celebrating Champions and Looking Ahead
The top three finishers in each category were honored by H.E. Sheikh Jabor bin Khalid Al Thani, Director General of Qatar Racing Club, as enthusiastic fans filled the grandstands to celebrate another unforgettable night of racing.
With three rounds complete, the Qatar Drag Racing Championship now takes a two-month break before returning for the final two rounds at the end of February 2026. Expect more high-octane action, tighter battles, and the crowning of this season’s ultimate champions when the lights turn green once again at Qatar Racing Club.
