Steve Johnson Racing to Support Texas Capital Air Show in Dallas

Steve Johnson Racing will be featuring support for the 2025 Texas Capital Air Show on his Pro Stock Motorcycle this weekend during competition at the NHRA Texas Fall Nationals Stampede of Speed. Johnson will be racing his Suzuki down the legendary Texas Motorplex quarter mile at the pivotal fourth event in the six race Mission Foods Countdown to the Championship.

Johnson enters the Fall Nationals after making his quickest run of the season at the recent race in St Louis with a 6.774 elapsed time, guiding his Suzuki Hayabusa to the No. 7 qualifying position and a quarter final finish. As they enter Dallas the team has their eyes set on the cash bonus for Low E.T. on Friday night during the Stampede of Speed.

“I really love the Texas Motorplex,” said Johnson from his Alabama-based shop. “I love all the hospitality, and the Stampede of Speed is probably the most unique race on the circuit. The fact that we have a chance to win an extra $5,000 for quickest qualifier on Friday night is a huge perk for our little under resourced racing team.”

For NHRA fans who experience the thrill of 200-mph Pro Stock Motorcycle’s and 340-mph Funny Cars and Dragsters at the Fall Nationals, there awaits another spectacular high-speed performance three weeks later at the first Texas Capital Air Show, at San Marcus airport in San Marcos, Texas, just three hours away.

On November 1st and 2nd, NHRA drag racing fans can experience an unforgettable showing of high-performance military aircraft and historic planes, which include a USAF F-22 Raptor, US NAVY F/A-18 Super Hornet, 4 USAF F-16’s, a USAF C-17 GLOBEMASTER III, B-25 and a C-47. The family-friendly environment will also feature many aircraft, exhibits and ground displays during the heart pounding aerial feats in the skies.

The event is being held in conjunction with Wings & Warriors, a non-profit effort raising money and support for veterans and first responders with PTSD. When they knock, Wings & Warriors help make sure the door is open. Tim Scherer is co-founder and responsible for helping the group raise money.  Scherer makes sure that 100% of the money goes back to veterans and first responders, which also helps with the eradicate of suicide.
