FIM-E Rider Update: Light Speed Makes Mid-Season Moves
Light Speed Makes Mid-Season Moves
Bertrand Maurice and the French Light Speed FIM-E Pro Stock Bike team left Sweden in fine fettle having picked up the event win, a new personal best and the points lead with two events on the calendar remaining.
“This weekend lived up to all its promises for our small French team! We confirmed the direction taken at Santa Pod, both in terms of settings and in solving the breakdown [the Suzuki having been blighted by repeated early cut outs] that had been following us over the last two years which are now completely behind us.
It was a very good weekend that showcased the engine’s potential. We had some difficulties getting to grips with the track, resulting in rather poor 60-foot times [this was a common feature in a number of classes], but we still managed to remain consistent and pull off our personal best elapsed time [a 7.0829 to lead the field into eliminations]!
We are very happy with the work accomplished by the entire team and with Bertrand’s driving, and we head to Hockenheim with the same energy and eagerness to battle it out!
A few words for our compatriot and friend Jerome Rougemont, who managed to clock competitive times and of whom we are very proud! We hope he will be able to rebuild his engine to compete in the rest of the championship — to be continued!”
With a healthy lead over compatriot Rougement in the championship chase, a strong run for a third title is on the cards for Maurice.
