FOUR NEW WINNERS COLLECT CHECKERS ON WAYNE COUNTY SPEEDWAY’S KID’S NIGHT

A packed grandstand saw seven features contested on Kid’s night presented by Quota of Wayne County and Serpentini Chevrolet with Henry Malcuit, Cody Scott, Jim Nicely and Anthony Collins winning their first features of the year while Kyle Moore doubled up and Johnny Bruce won his third main event race.

In the Pine Tree Towing & Recovery Sprint feature, Malcuit would take the lead at the drop of the green flag and quickly opened up a two second lead with Tyler Street and Trey Jacobs in pursuit until lap 14 when a tie rod would break on Jacobs’ machine sending him spinning into the infield and at the same time 5th running Chris Meyers blew a right rear tire ending both of their nights. On the restart, Street would stay within striking distance as Tanner Tecco, Danny Mumaw, Jamie Myers and Jonah Aumend were going back and forth for third place. As the laps dwindled down, Street would close in on Malcuit but the Strasburg driver and his Sugarcreek Cartage, McIntosh Oil and Red Malcuit Inc. #70 would finish three car lengths ahead of Street for his first win of the season. Tecco would finish a season best third followed by Mumaw and Jamie Myers.

J R Gentry set the pace for the opening nine laps of the Malcuit Tavern Late Model feature as he would bump the guardrail a couple of times in that time period that led to his right rear going limp. Ontario’s Cody Scott would inherit the lead as the field would stay bunched together thanks to cautions on laps 12, 15 and 18 for various problems including debris and a dropped drive shaft. Back to green flag action, Scott had a rearview mirror full of Kyle Moore until lap 21 when Moore bounced off the guardrail in turn two and hit the dirt retaining wall coming out of that turn and go air born over it and hit the back stretch tires, severely damaging his car as he would be ok. In the final laps, Scott and his Rod Eddleblute’s Garage, Wilson Realty-Robin Jakubic Realtor and Tru Form Products #19 pulled away for his first win of the year. Ryan Markham and Doug Drown followed as Gentry recovered to finish fourth as Justin Chance filled out the top five.

After a couple of attempts to get the Canton Glass House underway, Creston’s Jim Nicely and his Ray’s Garage #72 would fend off early charges of Kyle McAfee and then a late run by Brandon Craver to post his first win of 2025. Craver collected the runner up spot followed by McAfee with Denny Shear and Paul McVicker rounding out the top five.

The Flynn’s Tire & Auto Service Modifieds were busy with two features with the make up main from July 19th starting the night off as Mansfield’s Kyle Moore would cruise in the 20 lap non stop race aboard the McKenzie Concrete, Kepling Floors and Platinum Designs #21d. The battle for second was back and forth between Caden Alexander and Ryan Markham as Alexander took control of second with six circuits to go for that spot. Tyler Wiles and Jesse Griffitts finished fourth and fifth. The second feature of the evening saw Moore out front again with Eric Wilson and Brad Goff on his rear bumper with Wilson and Goff going back and forth for second. Lapped cars came into play and on lap nine as Goff made contact with one and ended up with a flat tire finishing his night. The last half of the race would have Moore slowly pulling away from Wilson as Markham, Chaz Dawson and Nate Arp in a three way tussle for third and finishing in that order. Moore’s two wins gives him six in the Modifieds for the season.

It was also two features for the JoyRide Transport Mini Stocks with their make up main from July 19th seeing Johnny Bruce and his Randolph based Rio Quality Construction, K & K Detailing and Bullet Proof Welding #311 breezing to his third win of 2025 as Brock Searls couldn’t stay up with Bruce. Trent Bishop, Jimmy Burns and Colton Davis filled in the top five. The regular scheduled feature had Kyle Petit setting the early pace until his race car decided to stop on lap five as Anthony Collins took the point. Cody Musselman would try to chase down Collins and his TrashTalk Dumpsters, R B Welding and 71 Investments Seville based #71 but never could catch him. Wes Staley hustled to third as Searls would get his second top five finish in fourth as Eugene Arkenburgh grabbed fifth.

Next Saturday night will be the Don and Hans Gross Memorial for the American Late Model Ironman Series Late Models with the Modifieds, Super Stocks and Mini Stocks also on the racing card. Then on Tuesday night, August 12, it will be a Back to School Blow Out with the All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints for the Bob Chaney Memorial paying $7500 to win, The open 305 Sprints will also be in action.
