Racing Recap

Majeski & Guralski claim victory at the Barnyard to Brickyard 150 at JEFFERSON SPEEDWAY presented by United Electric

Super Late ModelS

The cars and stars of the Super Late Model Division were showcased at “Wisconsin’s Action Track” for the Barnyard to Brickyard 150 presented by United Electric. The Super Late Models would race in twin 75 lap features to honor Rich Bickle Jr. Bickle’s career started at Jefferson Speedway before he made it all the way to the Nascar Cup Series. The night was filled with excitement.

Local stars, Michael Grueneberg and Luke Westenberg led a fierce group of Super Late Models to the green flag to get the first 75 lapper started. Grueneberg muscled his way past Westenberg. The caution flag would fly on lap seven. Westenberg snagged the lead back on the restart. Westenberg had immediate heat from Jordan Devoy. Devoy was able to work around Westenberg on lap 13. Devoy was out to a sizable lead when a caution would come out with 14 laps to go. Devoy now had to deal with Ty Majeski. Majeski motored past Devoy and Casey Johnson would get by Devoy as well. Majeski saw the checkers first. Johnson would be second, chased by Devoy, Jacob Nottestad, and Kendrick Kreyer.

Ty Majeski #91 Super Late Model Feature Winner

The second 75 lap United Electric feature had Jason Erickson and Jevin Guralski pace the field. The youngster, Guralski would move past the multi time Jefferson Speedway Champion. Majeski would experience nose and hood damage on a restart. Eventually, the hood on Majeski’s hot rod would come up. This would cause the #91 to spin out of harm’s way. Guralski would have pressure from Kreyer and Johnson on the restart. Johnson’s machine would have mechanical problems, which ended his hopes for the overall title. Guralski would cruise to victory. Max Kahler, Kreyer, Nottestad, and Devoy rounded out the top five. Majeski was able to work his way back to sixth position. This was enough for the defending Nascar Craftsman Truck Series Champion to be crowned the overall winner of the Barnyard to Brickyard tribute event for Rich Bickle Jr.

Jevin Guralski #20 Super Late Model Feature Winner

Midwest truck series

As usual, the Midwest Truck Series put on one heck of a show. Fourteen year old Austin Warner and Eugene Gregorich led the field to green. Gregorich drove to the lead. James Lynch would later take that lead. Robbie Rucks, a local favorite and the evening’s fast qualifier was moving through the field. Rucks overtook Lynch on lap 17 and gained a healthy advantage. However, heavy lapped traffic would slow the youngster’s momentum. As lapped traffic continued to cause fits for the leader, Lynch was able to close to challenge for the lead. The checkers flew just in time for Rucks to claim his first career feature win in the Midwest Truck Series. Lynch settled for second, followed by Gregorich, Grant Griesbach, and Brandon Reichenberger.

Robbie Rucks #5 Midwest Truck Series Feature Winner

LegendS

Collin Murphy jumped out to the early lead in the Legends Direct Legend feature. As Murphy was enjoying his lead, Jackson Lewis was making multiple three wide passes to work his way to second. Lewis caught Murphy and made quick work of the young grasshopper to secure the lead. Lewis held on for the win. Dillon Schwanbeck made his way through the field to finish second. They were chased by Lincoln Cain, Coty Gular, and Ryan Laatsch.

Jackson Lewis #7 Legend Feature Winner
