Ryan Preece Headlines GAF Roofing Modified Masters Field

0 8

(Stafford Springs, CT)—When the Monaco Ford Modified Tri-Track Series invades Stafford Motor Speedway on Wednesday, July 16th for the GAF Roofing Modified Masters 80-lap feature, NASCAR Cup Series star Ryan Preece will be among the drivers looking to take the checkered flag home.

“For me, I always want to try to come to Stafford to race whenever I can,” said Preece.  “When I was looking at the schedule for this year, there were a couple of mid-week opportunities that were available and with this race being Dover weekend and not a lot of distance to travel, it just made a lot of sense.  Once I saw it, it was a definite to come race at Stafford with the Monaco Tri-Track Series.  Thanks to RaceChoice.com, Flamingo Motorsports, and Sign Pro, without those guys I wouldn’t be able to come up and do this race.”

Tickets & Event Info

The GAF Modified Masters will mark Preece’s first race at Stafford since the 2023 SRX feature event and his first time back in a modified at Stafford since the 2022 NAPA Fall Final.  Preece currently owns 37 career feature wins at Stafford (25 SK Modified®, 9 Modified Tour, 2 Open Modified, 1 MRS) and he would like to add to that total, but he knows it won’t be an easy task.

“To me it’s all about making sure my setup is good rather than getting acclimated to the modified,” said Preece.  “It’s just like riding a bike and it should be a good time.  The plan is to win.  I don’t show up to the track to not win, but it’s not easy and trying to make my car better and faster won’t be easy by any means.”

The GAF Roofing Modified Masters won’t be the only race that week that Preece participates in at Stafford.  Two days after the GAF Roofing Modified Masters on Wednesday, July 16th, Preece will be part of the Cleetus McFarland New England 900 grid on Friday, July 18th behind the wheel of a nitrous-equipped Crown Victoria.

“I’m really excited about that,” said Preece.  “When I come race the modified, it’s supposed to be fun but at the same time I put a lot of effort into the modified program, so as much as it’s fun, it can feel like work sometimes with all the things I’m doing.  When I come for the Cleetus race, that’ll be all good and fun and I’m sure I’ll have a good time with that and thanks to BuildSubmarines.com and RaceChoice.com for the support.”

The Monaco Ford Modified Tri-Track Series will be joined in the GAF Roofing Modified Masters by Stafford’s SK Lights, who will race their 40-lap King of the Crate feature event.  Tickets are available now online at StaffordSpeedway.com/tickets and can also be purchased at the admission gates. If you can’t attend in person, don’t miss the action—tune in to the live stream on FloRacing, the official streaming partner of Stafford Speedway.
