Mario Clair wins the Super DIRTcar Series at Cornwall Motor Speedway!
Cornwall, ON – Sunday, June 29, 2025 – Martin Belanger – he return of the Super DIRTcar Series to Cornwall Motor Speedway for the first time since 2019 brought one of the biggest events of the season, featuring the O’Canada 100. An electric crowd witnessed local standout Mario Clair claim his first-ever Super DIRTcar Series win in dominant fashion. Also on the program were the Farnham Ale Lager Pro-Stock Series, Sportsman, and Mod-Lite divisions.
Super DIRTcar Series – O’Canada 100
The feature saw Mario Clair take the early lead ahead of Dalton Slack and Ryan Stabler. Clair and Slack reached lap traffic by lap 14, with Alex Payne joining the battle at the front. A caution on lap 22 for Matt Sheppard slowed the field, but Clair remained strong on the lap 25 restart, with Mat Williamson now in third.
As the leaders navigated lap traffic past the halfway point, Clair pulled ahead with Slack and Payne in pursuit. On lap 68, contact between Slack and Payne brought out another caution. Clair continued to control the pace on the restart, while Alex Yankowski moved into third. With 10 laps remaining, lap traffic again became a factor, but Clair held steady and crossed the line first to earn a memorable and emotional first career Super DIRTcar Series victory, followed by Dalton Slack and Mat Williamson.
Farnham Ale Lager Pro-Stock Series
In Pro-Stock action, Burton Ward led the early portion of the 40-lap feature with Guy Viens and Eric Jean-Louis close behind. A caution on lap 6 reset the field, but Ward continued to pace the race until Marc Lalonde took the lead on lap 17 just before another caution. As the race wore on, Dave Seguin and Rock Aubin made their way into contention.
With 15 laps to go, Bruno Cyr joined the fight, using the inside groove to move past Lalonde on lap 37. However, Aubin surged late, taking the lead with 10 laps to go and holding on through the final restart to earn his first win of 2025, ahead of Lalonde and Seguin.
Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman
In the 25-lap Sportsman feature, Elliott Gamache led from the outset, with pressure from Bobby Herrington and Gabriel Ladouceur. The trio broke away until a late caution with 7 laps remaining bunched up the field. On the restart, Gamache held off a strong charge from Herrington and Donovan Lussier, claiming his second consecutive Sportsman win. Lussier finished second with Herrington completing the podium.
Mod-Lite Feature
The Mod-Lite 25-lap finale began with Mathis Caron leading the way, but he was quickly overtaken by Alex Forcier, who never looked back. Forcier controlled the remainder of the race to capture the win, followed by Antonin Lafleur and Charles-Antoine Bessette. For more information on the upcoming season at Cornwall, please visit the website at www.cornwallspeedway.com you can add us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/cornwallspeedway , twitter at @cms_speedway , and now on Instagram under Cornwall Speedway, we will use these media platforms for results and contests over the summer.
