FIM-E Rider Update: Speedy’s Short Times Bode Well for Marcus Christiansen

Speedy’s Short Times Bode Well for Marcus Christiansen

As we’ve come to expect from the dynamic Danish duo, Marcus Christiansen and his Speedy father Klaus, have been thinking hard over the winter to improve, refine and develop the total package that is their unique and multiple championship winning injected FIM-E Super Twin. The opening round of the 2025 points chase at Santa Pod gave quite a few pointers for what lies ahead as Marcus outlines:

“What a weekend to kick off the season! We started Q1 with a 3.99 on the 1/8 mile, but had the fuel shut-off triggered by vibrations — still, a solid first run of the season with our base setup and lots of promise.

In Q2, we ran a 6.16 on the 1/4 mile with a strong full pass and no issues! Including a new personal best of 3.961 on the 1/8 mile. This was awesome really felt good down the track. I was screaming all way on the break down area hahaha!. Given the poor weather conditions [the weekend was blighted by strong winds and moist conditions], this was an exceptional result and we were feeling ready for Day 2 of qualifying.

Q3 brought another early fuel shut-off from vibrations, but we managed to come up with a temporary fix (which has been redesigned properly for the forthcoming race in Sweden). The bike was ready for Q4, and we improved slightly to a 6.15 @ 1/4 mile and another strong 3.98 @ 1/8 mile. Despite tough wind conditions, the bike kept delivering. With this kind of base performance, the season looks extremely promising — there’s clear potential to go even faster!

In eliminations, we faced Vesa [Lipponen] in E1, but he unfortunately broke on the line — we were lucky to go through, even though we broke the gear’s sprag in the process. Quick repairs got us back on track, ready for our solo semifinal, and just like that, we were basically in the final! Unfortunately, the rain came down and the rest of the eliminations and finals were cancelled. BUT the good news — we’re now leading the championship after Round 1 on points!

We also tested the new Sunoco super c50 oil from our new sponsor Sunoco & Kematek and the bearings look better than ever.

It’s already shaping up to be an exciting year with strong competition, especially from Per and The Beast! We can’t wait to go back racing we just want more! Our next race is in the Nordic championship at Tierp [Sweden] over the weekend of the 12th-15th June. Then Tierp again for the FIM-Europe championship in August.”

With the slew of tweaks and developments, the most obvious being the now famous plant pots seeking to improving exhaust evacuation, this combination is (as per usual!) going to be one to watch throughout the rest of the year.

The next round of the FIM-E Championship heads to Tierp Arena on August 7-10, 2025, where riders will compete for crucial points. Click here for event information.
