Shaun Sheel wins the 50 lap event on CR Custom Construction night

Late Models

The cars and stars of Jefferson Speedway returned under the lights for CR Custom Construction night at the races. The weather may have been a little chilly, however the racing was red hot.

Scott Patrick and Ronnie Osborne led the Taylored Construction and Remodeling Late Model field to green. The two pilots had a seesaw battle up front until lap 8, when Osborne was able to clear Patrick for the lead. Meanwhile, Shaun Scheel and Seth Reamer were making aggressive three wide moves to advance through the field. Scheel, who started 12th was blitzing his way through the field. Osborne was looking for his first Feature win. Scheel would spoil those hopes. He would swipe the lead away from Osborne on lap 27 of the 50 lap main event. Scheel looks strong early on in the 2025 season in his quest to repeat as champion. Scheel would take the win in the caution free event. Osborne would hold on for second. Those two were followed by a hard charging Luke Westenberg. Seth Reamer and Jesse Bernhagen rounded out the top 5.

Hobby Stocks

The Gridline Landscape and Tree Company Hobby Stocks were led to green by Chuck Egli and Braeden Yelland. Yelland jumped out to the early lead. Dustin Ward made his return to “The Action Track” and was an immediate contender. Ward and Yelland jockeyed for the lead. New Track Record holder Robbie Rucks was quickly coming from his twelfth place starting position. Rucks would blow by Yelland on lap 7 and never look back. Rucks would drive away from the field for the win. Yelland would settle for second. Waylon Robinson, Avery Linnerud, and Shane Strothman rounded out the top 5.

Bandits

The PJ’s Painting Bandits put on an action packed show once again. Jordan Goecks led the 20 lap main event flag to flag. He had to fend off numerous challenges by Nick Newton. Goecks stayed poised and held on for his first career feature win. The action was wild behind Goecks throughout the race. The fans got their money’s worth as they saw side by side and three wide action. Lots of paint got traded, but the feature was caution free. At the checkers it was Goecks, Mason Wilcott, Newton, Jon Petitt, and Karter Stark.

Legends

The Legends Direct Feature was filled with excitement. They say the cream rises to the top. This couldn’t have been a truer statement. Watching the top qualifiers maneuver their way through traffic was astounding. Lapped cars would prove to be chaotic at times. At the end Jackson Lewis would turn his 13th starting position into a Feature win. Lewis was followed by Danny Chisholm, who broke the track record earlier in the night. Third would go to defending Track Champion Lincoln Cain. Michael Weber would finish forth. Former champion Dillon Schwanbeck would finish in the fifth position.

Bandoleros

The action in the Bandolero Bandos Direct feature was fierce. Three wide battles began on lap 1. An unfortunate wreck on lap 2 would bring the action to halt. Emily Billings had a scary wreck which turned her into the backstretch wall. The battles heated up quickly as the racing resumed. When the checkers were waved it was Harley Johnson claiming top honors in the Bandolero Season Opener. Teegan Wangsness, Lincoln Johnson, Axel Oldenhoff, and Wesley Baumeister would have their numbers displayed respectively on the scoreboard at the conclusion of the Bandolero Feature.
