ADK Karting coming to Aviation Mall in Queensbury
QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Aviation Mall is bringing a new form of entertainment to its shopping center this fall. ADK Karting Experience is leasing the former Sears space for a go kart track, an arcade, and simulators.
The track will take up 75% of the 95,000-square-foot space. Owner Jeremy Treadway helped design the track with other track designers and manufacturers from England, Bulgaria, and Hungary to make it professional.
Treadway also owns ADK MX in Fort Ann and grew up in Ticonderoga. He drove race cars professionally for 18 years.
“This is what’s needed for the local area, the Town of Queensbury, and the Aviation Mall,” said Treadway. “We are offering a clean, family-friendly, professionally run entertainment venue for our community, tourists and race car enthusiasts.”
Aviation Mall General Manager James Griffith said the mall must capitalize on the Lake George region's annual tourists. He added that energizing the vacant former Sears space is helping the mall's redevelopment.
"By adding ADK Karting Experience, Aviation Mall will be part of the tourism conversation," Griffith said. "We are thrilled that the former Sears space is being redeveloped by a local entrepreneur with an exceptional vision for an entertainment use in our area."
