Bakersfield’s Robby Sawyer scored the exciting IMCA Modified win against a 30-car field on opening night on March 8th, with a last lap slide job on 2024 champion Gavyn Manning. Salinas’ Bobby Hogge, multi-time champion Brad Pounds of Bakersfield, and Shawn Natenstedt of Fernley, Nevada rounded out a varied top-five. A full field of drivers return this weekend for a 30-lap feature and $750 to win.

Tyler Bannister prevailed in the opening night IMCA Sport Mod feature ahead of Tanner Thomas of Atwater and 2024 champion Jason Bannister. IMCA Sport Mods compete in a 25-lap feature for $600 to the victor.

Nicholas Johnson is off to a red-hot start in the grassroots divisions on the one-third mile dirt track by winning both the American Stocks and H&S Body Works Hobby Stocks features during race one. Both divisions will race for 20-laps on Saturday. A strong 13-car field kicked off the IMCA Stock Car season with Chowchilla’s Austin VanHoff in victory lane. More new Stock Car faces are expected this weekend.

So-Cal Dwarf Cars make their first of four appearances in Bakersfield on Saturday. Bakersfield’s J.D. Brown carries tremendous momentum into his home track. Brown won the Pro Dwarf class at the first Western States National of the year at Mohave Valley Raceway on March 1st.

96 race cars packed the pits for opening night. Race fans are encouraged to check out round two for more excitement! Grandstand gates open at 4pm with opening ceremonies at 5:30pm.
