Azerbaijan GP: Improving Friday for Williams Racing

In what was a very busy day for the Williams Racing team their Friday practice for the 2024 Azerbaijan GP would see Alex Albon finish 13th and rookie team-mate Franco Colapinto 14th. For the two drivers their Fridays were quite differet with Alex working through his program as the team tried to address various issues with the setup of his car. For Franco his Friday started off in the most of difficult of fashions crashing his car early in FP1 in what he described as a rookie mistake. The mechanics were able to get his car repaired but he missed the early part of FP2. But Franco would come away far happier by the end of the session finishing just behind his team-mate. For Franco with it been his first time at the Baku track there is still a lot to learn about the track as well as the complexities of his F1 car. Overall a positive first day with the promise of further improvement come Saturday's FP3 and qualifying.
