WTM By Rinaldi Duqueine Disqualified From Spa Meeting
The LMP3 pole-sitting WTM By Rinaldi Duqueine M30 D08 will not take part in tomorrow’s ELMS 4 Hours of Spa Francorchamps, after being disqualified from the meeting this evening.
The car, which took pole with Oscar Tunjo at the wheel earlier today, has been disqualified because Torsten Kratz, the team’s Bronze driver, “did not participate in free practice or qualifying as required by the 2023 ELMS Sporting Regulations”.
The statement from the bulletin reads:
“The Stewards asked the team manager A. Lang to explain this fact. She informed that the team was facing technical problems with the car.
“She also admitted that the team had made a mistake after returning back on the track and had not sent driver Kratz to take part in Free Practice 2 session for being allowed to the race.
“As a Bronze driver did not participate in the required free practice or qualifying, the Stewards decided not to permit the car to start the race.”
As a result, the #8 Team Virage Ligier has inherited pole position.
