A second GTE Am Aston Martin will feature on the entry list for the 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship as Japanese team D’station Racing confirm that they have joined forces with 2020 Le Mans Winner and class Championship runners-up, TF Sport, for their debut in the WEC.

D’station’s Tomonobu Fujii will work alongside TF Sport team owner Tom Ferrier, to oversee the GTE Am project.

The #777 Aston Martin Vantage GTE will be shared by seasoned racing partners Tomonobu Fujii and Satoshi Hoshino, with the Silver driver, who will complete the WEC line-up, to be announced in due course.

Founded in 2017 by Two-time Porsche Carrera Cup Japan – Gentleman Class Champion Satoshi Hoshino (CEO of D’station parent company Nexus Co. Ltd), D’station Racing have competed in the Autobacs Super GT Series, the Super Taikyu Series, the Asian Le Mans Series, and Porsche Carrera Cup Japan.

In 2019, D’station Racing became an Aston Martin Racing customer team, giving the AMR Vantage GT3 its first competitive victory in the 2019 Super Taikyu Series opener at Suzuka Circuit. In 2020, their Super GT team entered into a partnership with Pacific Racing Team under the “Pacific-D’station Racing” banner. Also in 2020, the team expanded their Super Taikyu efforts with the new AMR Vantage GT4, and gave the Vantage GT4 its first win in Japan.

The team has 6 wins in Super Taikyu ST-X (FIA GT3) – 2 with Porsche from 17-18, 4 with Aston Martin since 2019, including first win for Vantage GT3 at Suzuka 2019; 2nd in 2019 ST-X Championship
There have also been 3 podiums and 16 top-10s in Super GT GT300 class (3 top tens since switching to Aston Martin, all in 2020) and a race win on the team’s debut in the 2019-20 Asian Le Mans Series, in 4h Shanghai (below).

Tomonobu Fuji has 8 career Super GT victories and was 2nd in the 2012 GT300 Drivers’ Championship; two-time Super Taikyu ST-X Champion (2011, 2016), and two-time Japan Le Mans Challenge Champion (LMP2-2006 (below), LMGT1-2007)

D’station Racing have targeted a WEC entry since the team’s inception and a team entry in the 24 Hours of Le Mans as a lifelong ambition of Bronze driver, Satoshi Hoshino who had a brief run at Le Mans in a Proton-run Porsche in 2019.

The D’Station car joins a second Aston Martin entered by TF Sport, confirmed this morning, with US racer Ben Keating joined by Felipe Fraga and Dylan Perreira.

Tom Ferrier, Team Owner of TF Sport – “We are very happy to welcome D’station Racing to WEC. As a fellow partner team of AMR, we know them well and I hope that by us joining forces with them for 2021 in WEC, we will deliver a long and successful relationship for many years to come.”

Tomonobu Fujii, Team Managing Director of D’station Racing – “I am very excited to announce our entry for the FIA World Endurance Championship and the 89th 24 Hours of Le Mans. Being able to compete in the FIA WEC has been a major goal for D’station Racing since its inauguration. As this project comes to fruition, I recall all the preparation we went through with Aston Martin, AMR, and Tom Ferrier from TF Sport. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart for their ongoing support.”
