New In 2020: Ginetta G55 GTA

0 6

Ginetta have launched the latest version of the G55, the G55 GTA.

Derived from the successful G55 GT4 chassis, the 1100 kilo Ginetta GT Academy car features a tuned 270 bhp 3.7-litre V6 engine and excellent 50:50 weight balance.

Whilst numerous options are available the basic package is already pretty comprehensive and includes:

  • Paddle shift with auto-blip
  • MOTEC LCD race dash
  • High performance race suspension and brakes
  • 6 Speed Quaife helical gearbox
  • Power steering
  • Air conditioning
  • 20” Wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres
  • VBOX Lite in car data and video system
  • Internal soundproofing
  • Rear wing
  • ATL 60L fuel cell running on 98RON pump fuel

From £62,500, the GT Academy is designed as an entry level, cost-effective and easy to operate GT track car. It runs on road-going Michelin tyres and has been designed to offer much reduced operating costs to the more focused, and already low-cost, more developed G55 derivatives.

Ginetta is also offering an optional race series for those ready to shift up from track day enthusiast to entry level GT racer.

In 2021, drivers of all experience levels can compete in GT Academy, where the field is split between experienced drivers and a ‘Rookie’ class. This new series replaces the GRDC as the entry point to Ginetta racing a ladder that includes the G40 Cup, GT5 Challenge and SuperCup.

Ginetta are offering a Rookie Series Package as a  platform for drivers to make a racing debut. At the heart of the  offer is a true arrive and drive GT race package with everything covered for a track, test or race day, encompassing driver development, technical support, car transport and storage.

Fuel and tyres are also included. It covers all the support a novice driver needs to maximise experience, taking away the time and hassle involved with running a race car and delivering a hassle-free experience.

Drivers can grow in confidence through the support of the exclusive Ginetta driver development programme, where access to simulators, fitness facilities, track testing and an advanced driving course, designed by in-house LMP1 driver Mike Simpson, is all available.

Ginetta will also offer drivers a route to entry into premium race weekends on the British GT calendar.
