Full Season World Challenge Programme For Tech1 Racing

The Toulouse-based Tech1 Racing team has announced that is entering GT World Challenge Europe this season with a Lexus RC F GT3.

For this second year of collaboration with Lexus for the team (which is part of the Panis Racing team), the #15 RC F GT3 will be driven by two young French drivers Aurélien Panis and Thomas Neubauer. The pair will take part in the Sprint Championship, with Timothé Buret completing the Endurance line-up.

Sarah Abadie -Team-Manager Tech1 Racing said: “Motorsport is an eternal restarting. For its 21st season, Tech1 Racing faces a new challenge: winning the Silver Cup in GT3.

“We are very happy to be working with Lexus again. This year, we are giving our full confidence to youth with this trio of “silver” drivers whose average age is 23 and whom we know very well, having worked together in the past in different categories. By confirming Aurélien Panis as Official Driver, Lexus is paving the way for young people to represent the brand in GT.”

Panis says he is thrilled to be named an official driver for the programme.

“I am very happy and proud to join Lexus in the GT World Challenge Europe with the status of official driver,” he said. “It’s also a real pleasure to be back with the Tech1 Racing team with whom I made my Formula Renault 3.5 debut and had the chance to take part in a few races last year in Blancpain Sprint with the Lexus.

“Sharing this season with Thomas Neubauer (in both endurance and sprint) and Timothé Buret (in endurance), two fast drivers with a very good state of mind, is more than motivating! Our trio is solid, and we will be obsessed by fighting at the front of the field in the Silver Cup and putting the Lexus at the top of the standings. Everything’s in place for a great season, and I’m already looking forward to the first tests with the team.”
