Hamlin, Harvick answer Matt DiBenedetto’s plea to sponsor GoFas Racing at Phoenix
Matt DiBenedetto and GoFas Racing will have financial support at this weekend’s NASCAR race from two of his competitors.
Matt DiBenedetto and GoFas Racing don’t have a sponsor for this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race, prompting DiBenedetto to post a video on Twitter Tuesday asking for help in securing funding.
Hey guys!

We hate doing this, but we are UNSPONSORED as of right now for @ISMRaceway this weekend! If you or anyone you know has the ability to help us connect with a business interested in coming on board this weekend please contact the @GoFasRacing32 page ASAP! pic.twitter.com/3hbFnTBBqI
Answering the request within minutes was fellow driver Denny Hamlin, who announced he would contribute $5,000 to help GoFas Racing compete in Sunday’s Ticket Guardian 500 at ISM Raceway.
DiBenedetto responded to the help by tweeting that Hamlin could put his face, name of his charity or whatever he wanted on DiBenedetto’s No. 32 car this weekend. Hamlin later tweeted: “Very good driver here that deserves being on the track. Any company would be represented well on his car.”
Hell im in for 5k. Where do i send the check @mattdracing? https://t.co/cyQCui9Apv

Shortly after Hamlin’s contribution, NASCAR Hall of Famer and Fox Sports analyst Darrell Waltrip matched Hamlin’s contribution. Then, Kevin Harvick added pitched in another $5,000.
Making the situation unique is that DiBenedetto, Hamlin and Harvick, who’s won the past two Cup Series races, will be racing against one another Sunday on the one-mile track located in the Phoenix area. Waltrip will be in the broadcast booth working as analyst for Fox.
