$3,000-to-win Tennessee Crate Nationals scheduled Saturday, Nov. 4 at Volunteer Speedway BULLS GAP, Tenn. — The 44th season of racing at Volunteer Speedway began the first weekend of March on a sunny afternoon, and the curtain will close on the current campaign Saturday, Nov. 4 with running of the Tennessee Crate Nationals. Race fans, this will be your final opportunity to see racing at Volunteer Speedway until March of 2018. Tell your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers all about the Tennessee Crate Nationals at “The Gap,” because it’s going to be a must-see, outstanding show with expected excellent car count in each division. The Tennessee Crate Nationals features a five division racing program with Crate Late Model headlining the event paying $3,000-to-win and $200-to-start (50 laps), with no entry fee. Also in action on the high banks will be Sportsman Late Model ($800-to-win … 25 laps), Open Wheel Modified ($700-to-win … 25 laps), Modified Street ($700-to-win … 25 laps), and Classic ($500-to-win … 25 laps). Adult grandstand admission $15, kids age 12-and-under admitted free in the grandstands (when accompanied by an adult). Adult pit and tier-parking admission $30, kids age 12-and-under $15 (with an adult signed release). Lawn chairs are permitted in the grandstands. Coolers are permitted in the pit area and the backstretch tier-parking, however, no glass containers allowed. Directions to Volunteer Speedway: South on Interstate 81 from Tennessee/Virginia state lines, take Exit 23 (Bulls Gap/Greeneville), then turn right onto Hwy. 11-E at bottom of the exit ramp. Look for track entrance approximately 200 yards on left. North on Interstate 81 from I-81/I-40 split (East of Knoxville, TN), take Exit 23, then turn left onto Hwy. 11-E at bottom of the exit ramp.
