I remember the thread where we all discussed Alonso going back to McLaren, how there was divided opinion on whether that was a good move and whether McLaren would return to the front of the grid. Now 3 years into that project we've seen enough to confirm the answer.

So this means you gave up hope?

Anyway, i still want to say something about Alonso and it is nothing but positive. This even suprise me but is the truth. I still think Alonso doesn't care anymore about F1, if he can get another WDC or not. But he has driven amazing latley. I tryed to watch the Indy 500, but the Youtube stream i found kicked me out after a mintue. But Alonso was running 7th. Pretty impressive for a rookie. At Canada he did not bad either, even faster then his teammate, but what i really liked was that after his DNF he went to the grandstand and shake hands with the fans. This would have been a dream come true if this would happen when i was i little boy at the German GP 1995, and Rubens Barrichello for example climp up the grandstand and shake hands with me. This is something which never ever would have happen 20 years ago, showing F1 or the drivers are really closer nowadays to the fans then in the past. But we still want those old days back with Senna, Mansell or Schumacher. Althought something like this never would happen. So is sort of strange why F1 actually feels worse then it did back then, but it really does.
For me, the best era of this sport is 1995-1997. I never enjoyed it, more before or after does years.
