Need Gear advice small tire roots setup

Brad 6 with a roots. Car is harder to control when the track starts going away. Thoughts on a first gear change? 33x10.5w 3 speed lenco 128 131 and one to one so a 167. 4.56 ring gear. Chance converter. Going thru the traps at 8800RPM. Thanks
