[Georgetown] Tigers honored with GC Awards celebration

Georgetown College athletics has a decade long tradition of pausing in late spring to honor the achievements of the year. The Tigers allow student-athletes to nominate fellow athletes and coaches for the 12 various awards. Some have a male and a female honoree, while others are best candidates. Teams and coaches are honored as well throughout the evening.

This year, the awards banquet was added to the Orange & Black Spring Game – heightening the audience and recognition of the entire department. The night was a success with the help of the Student-Athlete Leadership Committee, helping hand out T-shirts that tout the year-long accomplishments, creating social media content to blast throughout the night and developing a YouTube video to wrap-up the event.

"Spring game brings so much energy and fun that it seemed like a great fit to do this tonight," said GC director of athletics Brian Evans. "The GC Awards have never been open to fans or the larger student body, but tonight everyone got a chance to help us honor the award winners as well as the entire department. Great job to these students who under the direction of associate athletic director Austin Sparks pulled off another fabulous celebration."
