Stanford Athletics to showcase full slate for Family Weekend
As students welcome their families to campus this weekend, Stanford Athletics is hosting a full slate of sporting events, giving families the chance to experience the energy, tradition and community that define Cardinal athletics firsthand.
Starting off strong, women’s basketball (17-12, 6-10 ACC) plays their final two games of the season this weekend, beginning Thursday evening against SMU (9-19, 2-12 ACC) for conference play. Clemson (19-9, 10-6 ACC) will come to Maples Pavilion for the Cardinal’s final game Sunday at 11 a.m.
Friday will begin with beach volleyball’s (5-1, 0-0 ACC) home-opening Battle of the Bay games against San Francisco (2-2, 0-0 WCC) at 10 a.m. and Santa Clara (4-0, 0-0 WCC) at 2 p.m. Battle of the Bay continues through Saturday, with Stanford facing Saint Mary’s (3-1, 0-0 WCC) at 10 a.m. and UC Davis (1-3, 0-0 Big West) at 2 p.m.
Women’s tennis (5-4, 1-1 ACC) welcomes Wake Forest (7-4, 0-0 ACC) to Taube Pavilion on Friday for conference play at 1:30 p.m. The Cardinal will gear up for more conference play against NC State (7-4, 0-0 ACC) on Saturday at 12 p.m.
Stanford baseball (4-4, 0-0 ACC) begins its three-game series against Fresno State (4-3, 0-0 Mountain West) on Friday, with first pitch at 2:05 p.m. Saturday’s game begins at 2:05 p.m., and the series closes out with a final game at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday.
Artistic swimming hosts Western Regionals at Avery Aquatic Center beginning Friday at 10 a.m. The meet is senior night for the reigning national champions.
Men’s basketball (17-11, 6-9 ACC) takes on SMU (19-7, 8-7 ACC) for more conference play on Saturday at 3 p.m. This is Stanford’s last home game of the season, and one of three remaining games before the Cardinal take on the ACC tournament.
The excitement continues with men’s gymnastics (5-1, 0-0 ACC) and the Stanford International Collegiate meet. The Cardinal will welcome Cal, Team Mexico, Team USA and International All-Stars to Burnham Pavilion.
With competition spanning nearly every corner of campus, Family Weekend comes with plenty of chances to catch Stanford teams in action. Between senior nights, season finales and international showcases, students can take full advantage of attending a handful of high-stakes games with their loved ones.
