10 Longhorns make Texas Athletics Hall of Honor Class of 2025

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The newest batch of Longhorns athletes to achieve immortality is here.

Texas Athletics announced 10 members of its Hall of Honor Class of 2025 on Wednesday, to be inducted at 7 p.m., Sept. 12 at the LBJ Auditorium and Conference Center.

Five men and five women comprise the class, including All-Americans, Olympic medalists and national champions.

The class will be recognized at the Longhorns football game Sept. 13 against UTEP.

71st Men's Hall of Honor class inductees

  • Nate Dusing, swimming and diving, 1998-2001
    • 2-time Olympic medalist, 2-time NCAA individual champ, 9-time NCAA relay champ, 27-time All-American, member of Texas' 2000 and 2001 national title teams
  • Royal Ivey, basketball, 2001-2004
    • 4-year starter, helped lead Texas to three consecutive Sweet 16 berths and 2003 Final Four. 10-year professional playing career, assistant coach for the NBA's Houston Rockets, head coach of South Sudan national team
  • Kyle Russell, baseball, 2006-2008
    • School record holder with 57 career home runs, first team All-American and Big 12 player of the year in 2007
  • Rodrique Wright, football, 2002-2005
    • First team All-American at defensive tackle for the 2005 national title team, 4-year starter
  • Bobby Mitchell (Vintage Selection), football, 1968-70
    • 3-year letterman at offensive guard, helped Texas to 30-game winning streak, two national championships and three SWC titles

26th Women's Hall of Honor class inductees

  • Kirsten Wengler Burton, swimming and diving, 1983-1986
    • Led Texas to three consecutive national titles from 84-86, 21-time All-American, 5-time NCAA relay champ, 11-time SWC champ
  • Haley Eckerman, volleyball, 2011-2014
    • Member of 2012 national championship team, 2-time national player of the year, 4-time All-American, 3-time Big 12 player of the year
  • Nicole Devonish Gilmore, track and field, 1994-1997
    • 8-time All-American, 8-time SEC champ in long and triple jumps, helped lead Texas to four runners-up and three third-place finishes at NCAA indoor and outdoor national championships
  • Tiffany Jackson, basketball, 2004-2007
    • 3-time All-American and only player in school history with at least 1,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 300 steals and 150 blocks
  • Nancy Ledbetter Ramsbottom, golf, 1981-1984
    • 1984 SWC champ and player of the year, 16-year LPGA career ... being inducted posthumously after she passed away following a long battle with cancer in 2022
