Springs takes the Mound in Series Finale

The Athletics and the Toronto Blue Jays will finish off the first half of the season today with the rubber match of their series at Sutter Health Park. The teams will scatter after the game with both teams sending players to Atlanta for the MLB All-Star Game, while others get some much-deserved R&R.

Jeffrey Springs will take the mound today for the A’s. The 32-year-old lefty is 7-6 this season with a 3.92 ERA in 103.1 innings. He’s 1-0 in July with a 2.38 ERA. He’ll go up against José Berríos for the Blue Jays. Berríos is 5-3 with a 3.53 ERA over nineteen starts in 2025. The 31-year-old righty pitched well against the White Sox last outing but was hit hard in a loss to the Yankees earlier last week.
