Athletics 5, Guardians 1: Deja Vu
Bibee goes 8, Guardians hitters go to sleep
You may ask yourself why I titled this article “Deja Vu”.
Does anyone remember Ryan Yarbrough?
Does anyone remember the curse of the soft-tossing lefty from 2022?
Well. We’re back, baby.
Soft-tossing lefty twirls 7.1 innings of 1-run ball.
Shocker.
(I’m not going to mention Jose’s back-to-back errors because, honestly, he is the least of my concerns)
This team still can’t hit lefties and the offense is just overall painful to watch.
Hedges got on base twice, lol.
Angel scored the team’s only run on a solo shot to left that knocked Springs out of the game.

Bibee with a very interesting final line.
8 innings, 10 hits, 4 earned runs, 10 strikeouts, 0 walks — 105 pitches.
Obviously, you’d rather him not give up 5 runs (4 earned) on 11 hits, but at least he gave you length in a game Vogt clearly thought we had no chance of winning. Very gritty performance and, honestly, I like Vogt leaving him in.
Manzardo was brought in for Fry and walked. Santana clobbered a ball to left-center that — against any other team — probably would’ve been a hit. The A’s outfielders were everywhere tonight.
Get a win tomorrow, and get DeLauter to Cleveland by the time the team plane hits the tarmac on Sunday night.
