Game #60: Athletics at Blue Jays Game Thread
Looking to avoid a four-game sweep in Toronto
The A’s will get one final chance to steal a win against the Blue Jays this morning when they wrap up their series north of the border before returning home for some much-needed home cooking.
Both teams will use their big guns for the finale. For the Athletics that means left-hander JP Sears. After getting off to a killer start to the season the rails have fallen off for the third-year starter. Over his past three starts he’s allowed 19(!) runs, spiking his season ERA up over two full points. He’ll try to right the ship and help his team get out of Canada with a big start for his squad.

For the Jays they’ll go with right-handed veteran Kevin Gausman for the final game. He’s in the midst of yet another quality season going 5-4 with a 3.68 ERA on the year. A tall task for the A’s bats today but if they want to get back in the win column they’d better figure him out fast.
